In a world dominated by new technology, social media and different communication tools, the way in which brands communicate with its customers, stakeholders and the public has dramatically changed. The brand voice is often overshadowed by the consumer’s voice, reporters are constantly trying to beat the clock (and the consumer) to be the first, and news travels at the speed of light crossing borders and regions. While some best practices of public relations and corporate communications remain fundamental principles in our business, we need to embrace change and new ways of brand storytelling. In this lecture, we will explore: 1.What is public relations and how has it changed; 2.What makes news; 3.Public relations’ role in the marketing funnel; 4.The art of storytelling; 5.Case sharing; The topics and examples covered will be from an international perspective.
