Biography:
Liwei Zhang received a Bachelor degree in applied mathematics, a Master degree in operations research and cybernetics, a Ph.D. in computational mathematics from Dalian University of Technology in 1989, 1992 and 1998. His postgraduate tutor is Prof. Xia Zunqi. After graduated in 1992, he worked at the Department of Applied Mathematics of Dalian University of Technology. He was named Associate Professor in 1995, Full Professor in 1999, Doctoral Tutor in Operations Research and Cybernetics in 2002, and Doctoral Tutor for Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Science in 2005. He is currently a professor and a doctoral supervisor at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Dalian University of Technology.
Liwei Zhang's current research interests lie in random optimization, matrix optimization, variation analysis and equilibrium optimization. He has published more than 100 SCI search papers in these fields, including papers published in top journals of operations research and computational mathematics. These journals include Operations Research, Mathematical Programming, SIAM Journal on Optimization, Mathematics of Operations Research, Mathematics of Computation and so on. He is currently an editorial board member of the SCI journal APJOR and an editorial board member of the Journal of Operations Research, and the executive director of the China Operations Research Society and the Vice Chairman of the Mathematics Planning Branch of the China Operations Research Society.
