Art Groups Recruitment
CUHK(SZ) university-level art groups, affiliated to the University Arts Centre, include the Orchestra, the Chorus, and the Chinese Orchestra. Currently, CUHK(SZ) art groups target at all staff and students, even alumni for recruitment. All art groups have long been active both on and off campus as part of the student societies, giving performances ranging from classical to pop music and from ensemble to solo. They are also featured in various music activities, including the Welcoming Party, the University Annual Concert, music festival, and themed flash mob. They have been to fantastic stages for performances, including Shenzhen Concert Hall, Shenzhen Poly Theatre and Longgang Cultural Hall. In the future, under the auspice of the University Arts Centre, the groups will be managed in a more systemic manner. Outstanding instrumentalists and singers from Shenzhen or surrounding areas will be invited as advisors. In addition, University Arts Centre will strive for opportunities of competitions both at home and abroad. Through systematic music training, we aim to deepen the understanding of music and art, carry forward the charm of music and offer a platform for CUHKSZers to explore their talents.

The Chorus
The Chorus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was formerly the Student Chorus (established in October 2014) and the Staff Chorus (established in August 2015). Since its foundation, adhering to the concept of innovation and diversification, the Student Chorus has been successful in performing a wide range of classical and popular songs in both Chinese and foreign languages, including "The Seal Lullaby", "Baba Yetu", "Just One Time", "The Joy of Snowflakes", and "Time to Say Goodbye". It has also performed in important events on and off campus, including the Annual Concert of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen from 2015 to 2018, the 2017 CUHK(SZ) Student Chorus Concert, and Longgang Water Music Festival from 2018 to 2019. Five years since establishment, it has become an influential chorus that masters various music styles. For the Staff Chorus, apart from joining the Student Chorus in some of the above-mentioned performances, it has also given performances on its own at each year 's Welcoming Party.

The Orchestra
The Orchestra of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was established in 2015, composing of undergraduates who were from different schools and majors, who got together because of their passion for classical music. Currently, CUHK(SZ) Orchestra targets at not only students, but also staff, even alumni for recruitment. The Orchestra has been dedicated to the development of classical music on campus, and the promotion of both classical and modern music. It participated in the Annual Concert of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen from 2015 to 2017 and the 2017 CUHK(SZ) Student Chorus concert, collaborating with the Student Chorus to perform excellent music pieces such as Let it Go, Baba Yetu, and I Like it. The Orchestra is planning to perform more pure orchestral music and invite well-known conductors for exchange of ideas in the future.

· Music-loving, responsible, basic understanding of music
· Time management skills
· Have been learning or have a command of an orchestral instrument for over three years (requirements for instruments with scarce performers can be relaxed)
· Those with orchestral experiences will be given priority (requirements for instruments with scarce performers can be relaxed)
Instruments (not limited to the following)
Woodwind: Clarinet, Oboe, Flute, Saxophone, Bassoon
Brass: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba
Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
Percussion: Timpani, Marimba (Applicants without related experience are acceptable)

The Chinese Orchestra
The Chinese Orchestra of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was established in August 2018. Its members play a number of musical instruments such as Zheng, Pipa, Bamboo Flute, and ethnic percussions. In practice, the Chinese Orchestra aims to demonstrate and explore the charm of folk music, as well as popularize specialized knowledge. Meanwhile, it will rehearse and perform outstanding folk music pieces to help those interested in folk music improve their skills and broaden their horizon, making the culture of folk music come to fruition on campus.
