Prof. JIA Jianmin from SME Appointed to Effie Board of Directors
On September 21, the Board of Directors of Effie Greater China was established. Prof. JIA Jianmin, Presidential Chair Professor, School of Management and Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, was appointed to the Board, which gathered 14 marketing veterans with rich industry experience and influence from Advertisers, Agencies, IT, Academics and other fields.
The Board of Directors is committed to promoting the implementation of the Effie Awards Greater China in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan, China. The Effie Awards are one of the most influential marketing communications awards given to the most effective marketing communications ideas and practitioners across the globe.

Prof. JIA Jianmin is the Presidential Chair Professor at SME, CUHK-Shenzhen, a Chang Jiang Chair Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, and a member of the National Steering Committee for China’s MBA Education. He was a Professor and Chairman in Department of Marketing at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Dean of School of Economics and Management, Southwest Jiaotong University, a member of the Expert Consultation Committee of the Management Sciences Department of the Natural Science Foundation of China, a member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, an Associate Editor of Operations Research, and an Academic Trustee of Marketing Science Institute (MSI), USA.
Prof. Jia received his Ph.D. from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include big data marketing, social networks, consumer choice, customer decision making and risk decision. His papers are published in the top international academic journals in management such as Management Science, Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, Operations Research, and Psychological Science. Currently, Professor Jia teaches courses in “Big Data Marketing” and “Marketing” at Shenzhen Finance Institute and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

The Effie Awards were launched in 1968 by the New York American Marketing Association as an awards program to honor the most effective advertising efforts. Effie Worldwide stands for effectiveness in marketing, spotlighting marketing ideas that work and encouraging thoughtful dialogue about the drivers of marketing effectiveness. So far, Effie Worldwide has set up regional, national and global programs in 53 countries and regions to award the drivers of marketing effectiveness in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East/North Africa and South America. As a member of the Board of Directors, Professor Jia will actively promote China's effective marketing standards and provide perspectives for Effie Awards Greater China and other effective marketing projects in the region.
