Notice of supplementary application for NSFC Major Research Plan of Tri-Co Robots 2020
The NSFC has initiated supplementary application for NSFC Major Research Plan of Tri-Co Robots 2020. Details of application requirements are as follows:
1. Funding fields
A. Basic theory and key technology of emergency diagnosis and quarantine intelligent operation robot
B. Basic theory and key technology of multi-mode operation robot applied to infection ward care

2. Eligibility of applicants
A. Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:
(1) With the experience of undertaking basic research projects;
(2) Have senior academic title.
B. In-site post-doctoral researchers are not eligible to apply for this program.
3. Funding amount and duration
The duration of this program is four years (the start time should be January 1, 2021 and finish time should be December 31, 2024) and the average funding intensity is about 3 million yuan per project.
4. Procedure of application
Online application
Applicants shall fill out application forms online via the application system (https://isisn.nsfc.gov.cn/) . When filling in the application form, applicants should follow: for “funding category”, select“重大研究计划”; for “subclass introduction”, select “重点支持项目”; for “annotation”, select “共融机器人基础理论与关键技术研究”.

Paperless submission
In the stage of submission, applicants shall only submit the online application, without having to submit any hard copies.
5. Other requirements
A. Application limit
- This fund is subject to the total number limit(The total number of the programs a researcher with senior academic title applies for (including as applicant and main participant) and undertakes (including as applicant and main participant) shall not exceed two);
- Applicants shall only apply for one project once in a year(except for integration program and strategic research program) ;
- Applicants can’t apply for Major Research Plan program if they received funding (except for integration program and strategic research program) as the PI in the previous year.

B. Applicants shall discover scientific issues based on the practical application of epidemic prevention and control and are encouraged to conduct collaborative research with researchers from medical institutions.
C. The number of collaborative institutions shall not exceed 2.
D. Project which has a good foundation and could be applied in medical institutions for validation and suitability assessment will be given priority to funding.
E. Both application forms and proposals shall be written in Chinese.
6. Deadline
Applicants shall upload attachments and submit online application forms by May 17, 2020. After submission, the RAO will review and feedback. Applicants shall submit the revisory (if any) application forms online by May 19, 2020, without having to submit any hard copies.
Delayed application will not be accepted
