Company Visit - PwC
This time we visited PwC Shenzhen’s office at the KingKey Financial Center. We got to know how their true working environment is, how their employees feel about PwC and how to apply for winter internship programs.
Two guests sharing session:
Iris, joined PwC’s two winter internship programs, and got the Associate Assurance Offer for her outstanding performance
“The internship experience at PwC helped me improve a lot on my accounting skills and communication abilities. And the assurance process is quite different from how we learn accounting, it emphases more on integrity and your reverse thinking. Not like the separate items on those accounting text books.
For information our clients provided, it is important to examine its existences and accuracy. Like whether these fees actually happened or not, or whether the amount is accurate or not. If you are not sure about it, knowing how to communicate with the clients efficiently and clearly is important.”
Aron, MSc in Accounting, CUHK, Senior Associate, Financial Consulting
“It is a benefit that PwC offers our employees worldwide opportunities. You will be able to reach out to colleagues around the world and discover global best practices to help our clients. There are many ways where you can build up this network, such as our internal knowledge sharing and social platform, global projects, secondment opportunities and many more.
Learning is a life-long journey. Despite of the close interactions with leaders and colleagues on a daily basis, there are many other structured learning and development programs and courses available to help you grow and work towards your professional qualifications, like CPA, CICPA, etc. “
The Winter Internship Program:
Every year in January, PwC offers internship opportunities in the lines of service of Assurance, Risk Assurance and Tax departments. During your time at PwC, you will experience working in professional services firm through real client work. You'll also get a chance to develop your influencing skills, professionalism, business acumen, as well as build up your professional network - all of which will bring value to your future career. Also, if you perform well in the areas of technical capabilities, relationship building and business acumen, you may have the opportunity to be fast tracked in the graduate recruitment process and be offered a permanent position.
Some of the students may wonder the big pressure at PwC may not be a good way to develop their own personal interests. But the truth is, at PwC you will receive support in both your professional career and personal interests. This is the opportunity of your lifetime, grab it and use it to reach for the sky.
