Muse College Planting in your DIY Greenware
‘Peach trees initiate blooming, orioles begin warbling, and turtledoves start flying across the sky’- these sequential phenological phenomena declare the arrival of one of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms, the Awakening of Insects, Jingzhe in Chinese, the perfect timing of tree-planting. The Chinese Tree-planting Day falls on 12 March 2017. To welcome the festival, the Muse College invited the pottery teacher to give instructions on students’ DIY greenware from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., March 10th, in Zhiren Building. After decorating the greenware, the students also filled them with plants.
Teachers from the Muse College Office prepared the materials for DIY of greenware thoughtfully.
The pottery teacher tenderly offered suggestions on making ideal pottery work.
Students were immersed in their painting work.
Students refined their pottery after a long process of creation. The next step would be firing the pottery into porcelain.

In honor of the departing Jingzhe and upcoming Tree-planting Day, the Muse College took the initiative to get students involved in this activity, making them aware of eco-life with joyful memories following them around.
