“Star Kitchen” of Shaw College
Recently, the first “Star Kitchen” activity started at E401 with heated atmosphere and brainstorm. Romy Xu, Warden from Tower F, two teachers from Shaw College Office, staffs from AVIC and several student representatives joined this activity together.
Teachers from Shaw College Office and AVIC staff spent 15 minutes to clean the kitchen.

After the activity started, all the participants turned on the brainstorm mode. From the windowsill to the counter top, the cabinet to the dinner table and the most concerned part, the using of the fridge, our students expressed their opinions and talked about their ideas. Every lines in “the Rules of Public Kitchen” became more and more concrete and precise.
Our students are discussing the rules of the public kitchen with the teachers from Shaw College office.
Through checking and operating the fridge, our participants quickly figured out the management criterion on the division inside the fridge and the dining area. We believed that these “new-born” rules would help our residents to maintain the environment of public kitchen.
Through looking into and operating the fridge, students who attended the activity came out with the division of fridge, the cleanliness criterion for the windowsill and the dinner table and other requirement for the public kitchen including some of powerful rewards and punishment methods. After the brainstorm and discussion, our resident will arise the awareness of keeping a better public kitchen.
