14 CUHK-Shenzhen Students Sponsored by China Scholarship Council

14 CUHK-Shenzhen students have been approved by the China Scholarship Council to receive the national fund for studying abroad. 

Recently, the China Scholarship Council announced the list for the 2018 Outstanding Undergraduate International Exchange Programme (the first batch). 14 CUHK-Shenzhen students have been approved by the China Scholarship Council to receive the national fund for studying abroad.  The China Scholarship Council will grant a scholarship to these 14 selected students, which will cover their meal expenses, accommodation fees, registration fees, transportation fees, academic activity fees, etc. This is also the first foreign study programme of The University that has been funded by the China Scholarship Council since its establishment. The three-continent joint programme of Global Supply Chain and Logistics Management of the School of Management and Economics, CUHK-Shenzhen has also been included in this funding programme.

The “Outstanding Undergraduate International Exchange Programme” is organized and implemented by the China Scholarship Council to further promote the cooperation between domestic high-level universities and world-renowned universities and institutions, promote multicultural exchanges, and improve students’ awareness of innovation, practical ability, and international competitiveness to meet the needs of the country for the development of highly qualified international talents in professional and academic fields. In 2017, CUHK-Shenzhen started the application process and obtained qualifications. In 2018, the China Scholarship Council approved 22 programmes of our university to be listed in such national exchange funding programme for bachelor degree students.

With the growing international reputation of CUHK-Shenzhen, the "friendship circle" of international partners has been continuously expanding, with more and more extensive and in-depth international exchange programmes. Up to now, substantial cooperation has been established with 71 universities and colleges in the world, such as Oxford University, Cambridge University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania and Waseda University. At the same time, in order to encourage students of The University to actively participate in overseas study programmes, CUHK-Shenzhen actively seeks support from the national education authorities to opens up new channels for state-sponsored overseas study.
