Professor A. Reza Hoshmand (Director of General Education of Hong Kong Baptist University)
Professor A. Reza Hoshmand received his BSc from the University of Hawaii, and MSc from the University of Wisconsin. He completed his PhD in Resource Economics at the University of Maryland. Professor Hoshmand has 25 years of experience in teaching Interdisciplinary General Education courses, and has been recognized for his teaching and research by winning a Meritorious Performance and Professional Promise Award from the California State University System. He was a member of the team that designed the Interdisciplinary GE (IGE) Programme at Cal Poly Pomona in the 1980’s. The IGE programme of Cal Poly Pomona became a model for many other universities. He taught in the program for 5 years. As a Fulbright Scholar, Professor Hoshmand became the Coordinator of the GE Programme at the City University of Hong Kong in 2008.
