Prof. Brian Kobilka is currently Hélène Irwin Fagan Chair in Cardiology and Chair of Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He received the 2012 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Robert Lefkowitz for his work on G protein-coupled receptors. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences in 2011, the National Academy of Medicine in 2014, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2015. He was also elected as Honorary Member of the Royal Irish Academy, Member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and letters and Fellow of the Biophysical Society.
