‘Peach trees initiate blooming, orioles begin warbling, and turtledoves start flying across the sky’- these sequential phenological phenomena declare the arrival of one of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms, the Awakening of Insects, Jingzhe in Chinese, the perfect timing of tree-planting. The Chinese Tree-planting Day falls on 12 March 2017. To welcome the festival, the Muse College invited the pottery teacher to give instructions on students’ DIY greenware from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., March 10th, in Zhiren Building. After decorating the greenware, the students also filled them with plants.
How time flies! It has been a month since the semester began. Now, all the students have immersed themselves in the intense school life. As the Midterm was around the corner, the considerate staff of the Muse College organized an activity called “Seeing stars with Musers” which was aimed to reduce Musers’ pressure and let them be carefree.
With sweet intoxicating aroma floating in the air and love songs reverberating in the ears, Valentine’s Day arrived and brought a relaxation to our busy school life. In this special day, Muse College held a ‘Valentine’s Day Baking Party’ for us. “No matter you are single or not, Muse College will always be by your side!”. In this activity, Musers not only enjoyed the experience of making cookies and chocolate by themselves, but also tasted the sweetness of Valentine’s Day with Muse College.
As Christmas was coming, the entire campus was decorated with Christmas ornamentation. In order to create an authentic Christmas atmosphere, staff from Muse college had well planned an original Santa gift exchange party for Muse students. With elaborately decorated by Muse College staffs, gifts of students who had signed up for the activity in advance were waiting for their new owners. Even though it was slightly cold, students wearing in Santa hats still had satisfied smiles on their faces.
With the sun shining brightly in mild winter in CUHK(SZ), together with the teachers from the Muse College Office, the Muse College students went to an excursion. After more than an hour chatting delightedly all the way from the Lower Campus to the Upper Campus on the hill, students finally visited the dormitory of Muse College, the home-to-be. With the initiative to entitle the students to relaxations before the final examination, the hiking offered an opportunity to promote the communications among the students, and to strengthen the ties between the teachers and the students.
The Muse College held the Halloween Party on 30th October 2016. With screaming, exclaiming, and intimidation haunted the campus, the activity attracted students to give free rein to their imaginations, bringing back different Halloween images to life.
September 2, 2016 The orientation of Muse College was held as scheduled in Room F301 at Shaw College. President Xu, Vice-President Ruan, the principle of the Muse College -Prof. Pan Wenan as well as many other teachers attended the orientation. In addition to speeches given by President Xu and the teachers, impressive performances by students and an exquisite evening dinner made this orientation wonderful. All Musers were able to fully enjoy a lively and tasty banquet, displaying their exuberant spirit and high enthusiasm.
