Brief Introduction of the Guest

Shi Yijie, born in Shanghai, is a tenor sojourning in Europe and began his vocal studies in his native town. As a postgraduate student of Toho College of Music in Tokyo (Japan), he obtained a full scholarship to study in Graz, Austria. He is now a distinguished professor and a tutor for postgraduate students in China Conservatory of Music, as well as a professor of the College of Music, Hunan Normal University; of Sichuan Conservatory of Music and of Toho College of Music.

As one of the leading lyric tenors on the world opera stage today, Mr. Shi specializes in performing works of Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini and Mozart. Since 2007, he has won many awards and has been performing in opera houses, art festivals and concert halls across the globe. Also, he held solo concerts in many countries including Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, Denmark, the United States, Japan and China.
