Special Guest: Peng Ke

Peng Ke was born in 1992 in Changsha, Hunan and grew up in Shenzhen, Guangdong. She is an image worker and writer, and lives and works both in Shanghai and Los Angeles. Peng Ke graduated from the Photography Department of Rhode Island School of Design and has won the Abigail Cohen Documentary Photography Academic Fund, the EMGdotART Foundation Award and the Hahnemuehle New Talent Award. She was shortlisted for the Huayu Youth Award and nominated for the Paul Huf Award and the Jimei Arles Discovery Award at the Foam Photography Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She has held solo exhibitions at Salt Projects, Gallery Vacancy, and Lianzhou Museum of Photography and has worked as a resident artist at the Woodstock Photography Center, ACRE and The Lighthouse Works. She believes in the dynamic power of "viewing" and the all-embracing, free and far-reaching language of images. Her works are about the human experience of people flowing in the city, protecting the spaces that people are free to establish, the connection with the wider things, and the closeness of the individual and the sense of security brought by the intimacy between different systems and groups.
