Conference Background:
Conference on International Finance on December 17-18 is co-sponsored by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Shenzhen Finance Institute and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
This conference aims to stimulate research ideas among academic researchers and policy makers in the greater China area and the rest of the world. This conference will bring together distinguished scholars, policy makers and financial practitioners from the financial communities inside and outside China to discuss a broad range of issues related to international finance, including housing prices, exchange rate of RMB, international trade, FDI and related topics. This conference offers a unique opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities faced by Shenzhen, China, and the world in the process of globalization. We are very delighted to have Professor Charles Engel, Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Editor of the Journal of International Economics, and Dr. Tao Zhang, Deputy Managing Director at the International Monetary Fund, to deliver keynote speeches at the conference.
