Sleeping Dragons and Falling Eagles China’s place in a changing world

  • 2017.03.16
  • 活动
In the current global climate, where populist movements are bringing political change to Western democracy, what role does China see for itself in the international arena – a stable, reliable, and moderating voice seeking to sustain the existing global order or a power aiming to challenge and transform the present international system in line with China’s own national interests.

This seminar aims to examine the evolution of Beijing’s approach to the international system since 1949 and what that evolution might suggest about its approach to the international system in the foreseeable future. In addition to looking at trends in China’s international posture in the past 50 years, the seminar will incorporate current events and audience discussion to explore and project Beijing’s position in the world as well as its overall foreign policy and approach to the international community ahead.
