Notice of applcaition for NSFC joint fund of regional innovative development 2020
The NSFC has initiated joint fund of regional innovative development application 2020. Details of application requirements are as follows:
1. Funding fields
Including biology and agriculture, environment and ecology, energy and chemicals, new materials and advanced manufacturing, modern transportation and aerospace, electronic information, population health, etc.

2. Eligibility of applicants
A. Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:
(1) With the experience of undertaking basic research projects or doing basic research;
(2) Have senior academic title.
B. In-site post-doctoral researchers are not eligible to apply for this program.
3. Funding amount and duration
Key program: The duration is four years and the average funding intensity is about 2.6 million yuan per project.
Integrated program: The duration is four years and the average funding intensity shall refer Annex 1-Guide.
※ The start time in application form should be January 1, 2021 and finish time should be December 31, 2024
4. Procedure of application
Online application
Applicants shall fill out application forms online via the application system (https://isisn.nsfc.gov.cn/) . When filling in the application form, applicants should follow: “for “application code 1”, follow Annex 1-Guide; “for “application code 2”, free choose within research scope; for “funding category”, select“联合基金项目”; for “subclass introduction”, select “重点支持项目”或“集成项目”; for “annotation”, select “区域创新发展联合基金”.

Paperless submission
In the stage of submission, applicants shall only submit the online application, without having to submit any hard copies.
5. Other requirements
A. Application limit
• This fund is subject to the total number limit;
• Applicants shall only apply for one project once in a year;
• Applicants can’t apply for the same type of program if they received funding for joint fund of regional innovative development as the PI in the previous year.
B. The number of collaborative institutions for Key program shall not exceed 2; for Integrated program, shall not exceed 4.
6. Deadline
Applicants should upload attachments and submit online application forms by May 17, 2020. After submission, the RAO will review and feedback. Applicants shall submit the revisory (if any) application forms online by May 19, 2020, without having to submit any hard copies.
Delayed application will not be accepted.
